Our Story
Our journey began with a love for dogs and a passion for excellence. Our story traces back to 1992 with Ella, a Border Collie who became our first show dog and the inspiration behind our prefix.
In 2001, we welcomed our first Australian Shepherd, sparking a lifelong dedication to this remarkable breed.
Over the years, we have proudly achieved:
-
10 Supreme Champions
-
21 Champions
-
15 All-Breed Best in Show Winners
-
Over 80 All-Breed Best in Show Wins
-
14 Specialty Best in Show Wins and 7 Runner-Up Specialty Best in Show Wins
Among our proudest accomplishments, Brock and Secret are two of only four Australian Shepherds to win all three state Specialties. Secret was also the first Australian International Champion and is the breed record holder for BIS by an Australian Shepherd bitch and Australian bred Australian Shepherd.
Our commitment goes beyond the show ring. We’ve raised many performance-titled dogs and have had the privilege of mentoring eight new prefixes, all stemming from an exceptional foundation bitch from our Ellagant line.
At Ellagant, we strive to preserve the versatility, beauty, and intelligence of Australian Shepherds.
Our Breeding Program
We are an Australian Shepherd Club of Victoria approved breeder

We take pride in the dogs we breed. We are dedicated to producing Australian Shepherds with stable temperaments that perfectly fit into family life, ensuring every puppy is a cherished companion.
All of our breeding dogs undertake all health testing available which includes:
-
Hips and Elbows screening
-
Yearly eye tests
-
Full breed DNA profile
We are also constantly looking to improve our bloodlines in order to improve the breed. We have imported Brigham, "Am GCH Sup CH CIB Copperridge's Under Surveillance (IMP USA)", from the United States of America and he is currently behind most of our dogs. Additionally, we are constantly travelling to meet and research dogs that could compliment our bloodlines, having imported semen from USA, UK and much more.
We only breed for quality, not quantity. This means that all our litters are carefully planned ahead of time with the thought of producing sound puppies that can improve the breed and our lines.
